As these interviews went along, they just got better. Near the end, they ask "Where do you get your news?" Some answers: "NPR and PBS." "Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert." "New York Times." "BBC."
So are we saying that no one cares about the actual votes?
I love the bit in Gangs of New York when they say - Remember the first rule of politics. The ballots don't make the results, the counters make the results.
Mr. Mantle, FYI which is interesting to nerds like me: that quote was originally attrituted to Stalin: "You know, comrades," says Stalin, "that I think in regard to this: I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this —- who will count the votes, and how."
Yoiu are correct about "never have truer words been spoken."
